Vlc media player v0.8.5

As said, an excellent video streaming application, that can play a huge vairety of files. I used to have codec packs and they could be an annyoance but VLC is superb. Plays ALL of my ogg and avi files without a problem. Freedom for codecs means you can play any raw video file even with dual audio and video tracks.

I still use Winamp for my music though. I like to get cool skins and VLC lacks in that department. This is a kewl lil program and does everything u need, But have multiple players also just incase. The Rating is actually - for me - 4 to 5. I travel a lot and I have my Notebook as a tool with me. More then 7 or 8 times a week, you come accross at a customer or a friend, with a DVD or similar, home made or commercial. Up to now, I had never the case, that VLC 0. Service discovery is back!

That's mainly what I really use it for, because I don't like playing with my winamp playlist very often I still don't. This is a really feature-rich player, if only there was a bit more support on the skin side of things I have found and also have made my own skins for bsplayer that I like, so I use that more often.

BSPlayer's relative lower system requirements compared to most other players is also a plus, but I'm not inclined to pay for it when there's something so wonderful as VLC player to do whatever the free one can't do.

It's independency on other codecs makes it easier to find out if you have a codec problem or not and which codecs may be the culprits. VLC is also better at playing "corrupted" files than I have ever seen in any other player. I'm sure there's a few other things I haven't mentioned, but that's a good start. VLC has to be one of the better video players out there which can handle any format and has really good subtitle support This is my default player for all my vids and even my music collection : nice one peeps Recent headlines Ruling: Google Analytics is illegal in Europe.

Moderator for VLC for Windows. I have the same problem Post by scwizard » Fri Jul 14, am Whoops, I posted in this topic's clone on the other forum by mistake. I'm sorry. I have the same problem he's describing, but it persists in older versions of VLC.

The problem is only present in DVDs and not other forms of video. VOB format. I'm using a fresh install of VLC 8. The problem is not present in other DVD player's I've tried. You don't necessarily need to do this in VLC. You can but you will need to download the files first. Then post that information here along with any observations you made doing the first tests. Post by scwizard » Fri Jul 14, pm I'm narrowing in on the problem. It's far more noticiable with cartoon shows than with live shows. Thank you and goodnight.

Post by scwizard » Fri Jul 14, pm Make that "some other formats" I'm not sure for which ones its a problem and which ones it isn't yet. Other players had a similar problem with a divx movie I watched. But when a user does NOT answer the questions being asked all future posts on this topic are ignored! I would tend to believe it's you that needs to cut back on YOUR medication. Great work! In a moment of madness this afternoon I decided to resurrect this old VLC addon and rebuild it from scratch with an uninstaller. They sure have added a LOT of stuff to it since the last time I had a moment of madness to rebuild the thing as a proper addon and dump my original lazy switchless installer version and their file name lengths and directory structure is INSANE.

But anyhoo, I needed this for my new OS build, but be warned that I will not be wanting to update this freaking monster any time in the next So enjoy it while the version is still current.

Thank you for this Mrs. Post by keegan » Sun Sep 23, am Wow, I'm going to check this one out again. If the pictures are accurate this looks skinnable. I didn't know that. The VLC Media Player community has access to an abundance of multimedia capabilities within an open-source software — allowing for plenty of opportunities. While allowing people to donate money, VideoLAN Project offers the cross-platform multimedia player to consumers for free. Once downloaded, the VLC player can consistently open multimedia files within the software.

By choosing VLC Media Player as the default program , people can expect the selected files to be opened by the application in the future. Within the video player, there are two rows of menus on the top and on the bottom of the window. Users navigate the media playing experience primarily through the menu on the bottom of the window where the play, rewind, stop, forward, full screen, toggle playlist, loop, and shuffle icons are accessible. The loop function allows users a repetitive experience with audio and some video files.

The VLC player offers consumers the ability to access subtitles. The ability to customise the user interface on this already open source software is appealing; consumers can add premade skins or create them within the skin editor. Users can install extensions : playback speed manager, subtitle word searches, etc. VideoLAN Project assures the public that there is no spyware, ads, nor user tracking within the software, which protects the framework from intentional damages and makes the platform safe.

For people to instantly access media files, a media file opener is required.
