The StrcetFighter element is seemingly purely cosmetic: you don't really control the characters in the middle, in fact you don't even have time to appreciate their martial non-artistry, because you're too busy matching gems. The plinky-plonk music is grating and the giggly twee sound effects send shivers down the spine and out through the back passage.
