Any help would be greatly appreciated. James UK. In reply to jeffdb's post on August 18, Understanding that this issue is something to do with the "enhanced" USB drivers, I spotted an old USB hub lying around and had a brainwave; despite the advice about not using USB hubs with the iPod Shuffle, I connected the USB hub to my Windows 7 laptop, where it was recognised correctly, and I let it install, before then plugging in the iPod Shuffle into this hub.
Flushed with success, I ejected and unplugged everything, assuming that if I now plugged the iPod Shuffle directly into the Windows 7 laptop it would still see the iPod, having already seen it once, and be aware of it.
